We understand that proper tree care is essential for homeowners who value their property, and we're here to share our expertise and emphasize the importance of proactive tree care. Don't hesitate to explore the information below, and remember, scheduling an Arborist consultation is the first proactive step toward ensuring the health and longevity of your trees.

What is included in a consultation?

Our Certified Arborists are available for in-depth professional consultations. A professional consultation can provide you with an overall plan with specific goals for your trees. You can benefit from the expertise we have gained through many years of education, professional training, and experience. We are dedicated to preserving your piece of the urban forest.

Our consultation rate is $260/hour (one-hour minimum), this includes travel from our office to your property.

When retained for a consultation, we can:

  • Provide a visual evaluation of your trees
  • Identify pests and diseases
  • Provide tree preservation recommendations
  • Provide information and instruction on general tree maintenance and care

Services that are not included in the consultation, but may be requested at an additional cost are:

  • A written report from your consultation
  • A detailed survey or inventory of the species, size, and condition of trees
  • Collection of leaf/tissue/soil samples and lab diagnostic report

Can I email you a picture?

Yes, we enjoy receiving pictures of trees, however since multiple factors must be considered in tree evaluation and diagnosis, we will need to visit the site to properly diagnose the problem and determine the best course of action. We do not give estimates over the phone or on the internet.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry both General Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance.

Are you licensed?

There is no governing or regulatory body for the tree care industry in Texas. Be very leery of tree companies that claim they are fully licensed. So, ask questions before you hire someone. Make sure that you hire a Certified Arborist who has practical knowledge of and a lot of experience with trees. Check to determine if they are affiliated with a reputable trade association such as ISA (International Society of Arboriculture). You can verify any arborist or tree company’s credentials at the following link: https://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist/verify

What is the ISA?

ISA stands for the International Society of Arboriculture. According to the ISA website https://www.isa-arbor.com/, the International Society of Arboriculture is a worldwide professional organization dedicated to fostering a greater appreciation for trees and promoting research, technology, and the professional practice of arboriculture.

What does it mean to be an ISA Member?

According to the ISA, membership in professional industry organizations, such as the International Society of Arboriculture, “demonstrates a willingness on the part of the Arborist to stay up to date on the latest techniques and information.”

What does it mean to be an ISA Certified Arborist?

To earn an ISA Certified Arborist credential, one must be trained and knowledgeable in all aspects of arboriculture. ISA Certified Arborists have met all requirements to be eligible for the exam, which includes three or more years of full-time, eligible, practical work experience in arboriculture and/or a degree in the field of arboriculture, horticulture, landscape architecture, or forestry from a regionally accredited educational institute. This certification covers many topics giving the candidates flexibility in the arboricultural profession. A code of ethics for ISA Certified Arborists strengthens the credibility and reliability of the workforce. This certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (www.isa-arbor.com).

What does it mean to be a BCMA?

The ISA Board Certified Master Arborist credential is the highest level of certification offered by ISA. This credential recognizes ISA Certified Arborists who have reached the pinnacle of their profession. In addition to passing an extensive scenario-based exam, candidates must abide by a Code of Ethics, which ensures quality of work. Fewer than two percent of all ISA Certified Arborists currently hold this certification (www.isa-arbor.com). The Tree Preservation Group, LLC is proud to be the only company in the area with two Board Certified Master Arborists!
